​Internship Description 

Position responsibilities include:

• Assist the Race Director with the events registration process( e.g. Check-in, Check-out, Packet Pick-up)
• Demonstrating event management skills
• Plan, organize, and create new program ideas and special events that will contribute to existing services.
• Help meet event needs of clients with maximum effectiveness and minimum expense
• Assist in the execution of the day to day operations
• Exhibit a friendly and inviting disposition that shows respect and concern for others
• Learn the agency’s procedures for office management, record keeping, and various events.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Race Texas seeks three students interested in a full-time/part-time internship, with an emphasis in sports management, marketing, business, or related fields. The intern must demonstrate desire to learn and advance their career within this service sector and must be available for flexible scheduling and out-of-town assignments

Achievements:
I've gained an understanding of all aspects of the business including but not limited to; social media, customer service, website development, race and event planning, advertising/marketing, and facility management. Through this position I grew a thicker understanding of the amount of commitment, communication, and organization it takes to successfully manage a company in the event industry. It can be very stressful at times but the company's culture and atmosphere is one of a kind. I highly recommend this internship if interested in event management/industry.  

Benefits and Opportunities:
Race Texas offers interns a $750.00 semester stipend plus $10/hour during events; office hours are unpaid. They
also offers networking opportunities in the College Station area along with possible job offer after internship completion.
